Dolphin Swim Club
Terms and Conditions for Participation – 2005/2006
Season
I/We agree to the following terms and payment conditions in order
for my/our child/children to participate on the Grand Junction
Dolphin Swim Team. The terms are as follows:
1. The yearly United States Swimming (USS) and any yearly club
registration fee are non-refundable and must be paid prior to the
swimmer entering the water. New swimmers to the Dolphins may
participate for one week prior to payment.
2. If you choose to pay a monthly fee (blue or gold swimmers only),
the fee is due on the fifth (5th) day of the month.
Non-payment of monthly fees past the due date, which is the fifth
of each month, will necessitate non-participation for the swimmer
until payment is made.
When a swimmer is moved from one group to another, the monthly fee
or balance of a pro-rated session fee changes to the highest group
in which he/she is participating. When joining the Dolphins
mid-month, dues will be pro-rated. Fees may increase during
the year due to increased pool fees, coach’s fees, etc.
The Dolphin Board of Directors may also adopt fee adjustments to
high school swimmers who swim only a portion of a Dolphin trimester
during high school swim season.
3. Meet entry fees are in addition to monthly or session
fees. Nonpayment of entry fees will also necessitate
non-participation for the swimmer(s) until payment is made. A
swimmer’s meet entry will NOT be completed without paid entry
fees, and the swimmer will not be permitted to swim at the meet
unless the host team accepts late entry and payment directly from
the swimmer. Meet entries will not be accepted unless dues
are current.
4. All outstanding fees from prior sessions must be paid in full
before registration for the next session.Your full session fees, or
your first month’s dues are payable with the signing of this
contract before your swimmer can enter the water. Blue and
gold swimmers may elect to pay the trimester payment in two
installments, one due at registration, and the balance due on the
fifth of the following month. Should the remaining balance
not be paid in full by the 5th of the following month, your swimmer
will be deemed to have elected the monthly payment option, and will
pay accordingly. Late payments are subject to a $5.00 late
charge.
5. Credit is not issued for missed practice time.
6. Should a swimmer decide to discontinue participation in the
program with the Dolphins, all outstanding entry fees,
administrative, or other fees are considered an obligation to the
Dolphin Swim Club, and are payable upon termination.
7. Each blue and gold swimmer must fulfill a fund raising
obligation of $125.00 per year. This obligation is intended
to encourage each Dolphin Swim Club family to participate in
Dolphin fundraising efforts and assure a continuation of a strong
club. Super 8’s, Bronze, and silver swimmers do fundraising
as noted on registration form.
8. A fundraising assessment will be charged to your fund raising
account every January or upon registration, whichever comes
first. Blue and gold swimmers have until July 10 of each year
to pay this assessment. While you may pay the assessment
outright, we encourage you to meet the obligation through
fundraising credits. Super 8’s, bronze, and silver swimmers
must pay the assessment during the session for which it is
assessed.
9. Credits will be issued to your fund raising account as follows:
Personal sponsorships in the programs of any of the Dolphin Swim
Club hosted swim meets will result in a direct credit to your
family’s fund raising account. This credit will also apply to
any company advertising in these programs that you sell during
advertising drives and that you turn in with payment to the
advertising chairperson. (Any sponsorships sold in excess of
the $100.00 fundraising requirement will be credited to your
account at the rate of 50%. These credits may be used for
payment of swim fees, travel costs, or swim meet entries.).
10. In addition to the above, each Dolphin family is required to
complete nine (9) hours of non-meet, non-sponsorship fundraising
per trimester. An excellent and easy way to complete this
obligation is by working Dolphin bingo sessions. The bingo
master will record your hours and turn them in to the fundraising
chairman. Other fundraising opportunities may be announced
periodically for which you may complete your 9 hours. Failure
to fulfill this requirement will result in a fee of $15.00 per hour
for each hour not worked. This assessment must be paid prior
to registration for any session or participation in any Dolphin
activity or meet. Super 8’s and bronze must work 1 bingo
session per quarter; silvers must work 2 bingo sessions per
quarter.
11. Each Dolphin family is needed for work at our swim meets.
Please volunteer. Meets and fundraisers are essential to the
health of our team and to keep dues affordable.
12. Any checks returned to the Dolphin Swim Club for non-sufficient
funds will be subject to a $25.00 additional charge.
13. If fees are not paid to the Dolphin Swim Club in a timely
manner, the delinquent account may be liable for all collection
costs, attorney’s fees, and the $5.00 per month late charge
from the date the account first becomes delinquent.
14. Each swimmer will be required to sign a swimmer honor code of
conduct. Failure to comply with this code may result in the
swimmer being asked to leave the team.
15. This agreement supercedes appendices 2 and 6 of the Parent
Handbook, and shall be copied as Appendix 2 in future revisions of
the Handbook.
Swimmers cannot participate with Dolphins until the terms and
conditions are signed and this agreement and the Code of Conduct
has been returned to the head coach, team manager, or board
president.
WE AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH BY THE DOLPHIN
SWIM CLUB AS STATED ABOVE.
Terms and Conditions must be signed by a parent/guardian.
